Job Summary

The English School Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons, developing students’ language and communication skills, assessing academic progress, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective English lessons according to the school curriculum.

• Teach English grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, literature, speaking and listening skills.

• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments and assessments.

• Use appropriate teaching methods and classroom activities to engage students.

• Assess and monitor students’ academic performance and maintain accurate records.

• Provide additional support and remedial instruction to students who require assistance.

• Encourage students to participate in debates, discussions, creative writing, reading activities and other literary events.

• Maintain classroom discipline and promote a respectful and supportive learning environment.

• Communicate students’ progress and learning needs to parents and school management.

• Participate in staff meetings, examinations, school events and co-curricular activities.

• Maintain required academic documentation and student records.

• Stay updated with effective teaching methodologies and educational practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant subject.

• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred/required as per school norms.

• Relevant teaching experience will be an advantage.

• Strong command of spoken and written English.
