Job Title: Tamil Teacher

Job Summary

The Tamil Teacher will be responsible for teaching Tamil language and literature, developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, and encouraging appreciation of Tamil culture and literature.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Tamil lessons according to the prescribed curriculum.
• Teach Tamil grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and literature.
• Conduct tests, assignments, projects, and other assessments.
• Monitor and maintain records of students’ academic progress.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Use innovative teaching methods and digital tools to improve learning.
• Organize activities such as storytelling, poetry, debates, essay writing, and language competitions.
• Provide additional academic support to students who need assistance.
• Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress and development.
• Participate in school meetings, events, cultural programs, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Tamil or a related subject.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
• TET/CTET qualification preferred, as applicable.
• Previous experience in a school environment is preferred.

Skills Required

• Excellent command of spoken and written Tamil.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Good knowledge of Tamil grammar and literature.
• Effective lesson planning and assessment skills.
• Ability to use modern teaching methods and educational technology.
